This year, a record amount of 50,000 euros was contributed by private donors at the Colonna end-of-year charity gala, which will buy a new neonatal resuscitation table for Pelgulinna Maternity Hospital

The traditional gala held in Tallinn Seaplane Harbor is a part of Colonna’s broader charity campaign ‘Aita elustada elu’ [Help resuscitate life]

Campaign, having started in October and lasting until the end of December, aims to raise donations for buying a neonatal resuscitation table for Pelgulinna Maternity Hospital. The new resuscitation table features all the equipment necessary for monitoring a newborn’s vital signs so that reliable information about the baby’s condition can be received promptly and help can be delivered at once.

The private donors to have made the largest contribution during the gala were Roberto de Silverstri, Colonna founder and CEO, and the company co-founder Andrea Agostinone: both made private donations of 4,000 euros each to the maternity hospital.

“Colonna’s charity campaign has become a great tradition, and its extent, number of participants and amount of donations are increasing every year. This time, the gala, once again, set an all-time record of success: we managed to raise the entire cost of the resuscitation table and even slightly more. I would like to thank all our friends in Estonia and other European countries who deemed it necessary to come here in person and make their contribution,” Roberto de Silvestri said.

Colonna’s co-founder Andrea Agostinone emphasized that in mere five years the amount raised during Colonna’s charity campaigns to support maternity hospitals in helping newborns and prematurely born babies had exceeded 120,000 euros. “It feels good to know that Colonna’s support has aided the excellent professionals working at Pelgulinna Maternity Hospital to help hundreds of babies with their start in life. This is something each and every donor to our campaign can be proud of. For Colonna, charity is an essential mission, which will definitely continue,” said Agostinone.
